Ethereum Betting Sites: Gas, Token Deposits and the Layer-2 Question
Nine sportsbooks we compare list ETH. Ethereum is fast to confirm but can be expensive to use, it carries tokens as well as its own coin, and a growing number of wallets default to layer-2 networks that a sportsbook cashier may not accept.
Ether is the second coin in almost every crypto cashier, and in our comparison it is level with bitcoin: nine of the thirteen sportsbooks list it. It confirms far faster than bitcoin, but it brings two complications bitcoin does not have. Ethereum carries thousands of tokens as well as ETH, and much of its traffic now runs on separate layer-2 networks that look identical from inside a wallet. This page reads Ethereum betting sites with those two questions in mind.

Nine Ethereum betting sites, and the order we put them in
This table orders the sportsbooks differently from our main ranking: here it follows how many coins each cashier names, starting with the widest, so the operators that also take ERC-20 stablecoins and other tokens come first. The underlying checks are the same: identity-check trigger, payout ceiling and speed, licence.

Gas: what you pay to move ETH
Every action on Ethereum costs gas, a fee paid in ETH and priced per unit of computation. A plain ETH transfer uses the least; sending a token such as USDT uses more, because the network has to run the token's contract. The price of each unit rises and falls with demand, so the same deposit can cost noticeably more at a busy hour than at a quiet one.
What that means in practice:
- Small deposits suffer most. Gas is not a percentage, so the same fee is a bigger share of a small transfer.
- Tokens cost more than ETH. Depositing ERC-20 USDT costs more gas than depositing the same value in ETH.
- Quiet hours are cheaper. Most wallets show the current fee before you confirm; if it looks high, waiting an hour often helps.
Fast confirmations, with a wait set by the cashier
Ethereum adds a block every twelve seconds. A transfer with a sensible fee is normally included within a minute, and the cashier then waits for a number of further blocks before crediting it. Even with a cautious cashier, an ETH deposit usually lands well before a bitcoin deposit would, which matters when a team sheet comes out an hour before kick-off and you want to bet on it.
ERC-20 tokens: the same address, different money
An Ethereum address can hold ETH and any number of tokens at once. That is convenient and also the source of a common mistake: a cashier may give you one 0x address for ETH and a different one for ERC-20 USDT, or the same address with a note on which tokens it credits. Sending a token the cashier does not support to an address it controls usually means a support ticket, not an automatic credit.
| What you send | Network | Paid for with | Typical reason to choose it |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETH | Ethereum mainnet | ETH gas | Lowest gas of the three; price moves with ETH |
| USDT (ERC-20) | Ethereum mainnet | ETH gas | Dollar-stable balance |
| USDC (ERC-20) | Ethereum mainnet | ETH gas | Dollar-stable balance, where the cashier lists USDC |
If a stable balance is the goal and the cashier offers it, USDT on Tron is usually cheaper to move than ERC-20 USDT; our USDT betting sites page compares the networks.
SportsbookSportsbook and casino in one accountOpen sportsbook18+ · read the terms before your first depositThe layer-2 question
Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and other layer-2 networks process Ethereum-style transactions more cheaply and settle back to Ethereum. They also use exactly the same 0x addresses. A wallet set to Base will happily send ETH to a sportsbook's mainnet deposit address, and the transaction will succeed, on Base. A cashier that watches only Ethereum mainnet will not see it.
Before depositing from a layer-2 network, look for that network by name in the cashier. If it is not listed, bridge or withdraw to mainnet first, or use a different coin. This is the single most common reason an ETH deposit “does not arrive”.
Withdrawals, turnover and documents
Ethereum changes how money moves, not the terms that govern it. Several Ethereum betting sites ask for deposits to be wagered before a withdrawal: Vave asks for sports deposits to be turned over once and casino deposits three times. A withdrawal requested before that can be held, and the hold has nothing to do with the network. The identity clause is also unchanged: each operator in the table keeps the right to ask for documents, and a few name the payout size that triggers it.
Two habits avoid most problems: withdraw on the same network you deposited from, and keep a little ETH in the receiving wallet so you can move tokens on afterwards.
Price moves while an ETH bet is open
Ether is not a stable unit. Its price can move several per cent in a day, and a balance held in ETH moves with it. Suppose you deposit 0.5 ETH and back a 2.50 shot with all of it: the bet returns 1.25 ETH whatever the price does, but the dollar value of those 1.25 ETH on the day you withdraw depends on the market, not on the match. Some bettors welcome that exposure; most would rather the bet were the only thing at risk. If you are in the second group, convert to a stablecoin before you bet, or deposit one in the first place. Either way, decide before the deposit, because switching coins inside a sportsbook cashier is not always possible and switching outside it costs a second set of fees.
Choosing among Ethereum betting sites
Start with the cashier, then the terms. Does it list the exact network you use? Does it take ERC-20 stablecoins if you want a dollar balance? What is the minimum withdrawal in ETH? Then read the verification clause and the payout ceiling. The crypto betting sites guide sets every coin side by side, the fast withdrawal betting sites page compares payout speed, and the main ranking of no verification betting sites covers every operator.
