XRP Betting Sites: The Destination Tag That Decides Whether Your Deposit Arrives
Six sportsbooks in our comparison list XRP. The XRP Ledger settles in seconds and costs almost nothing to use, but most sportsbook deposits need a destination tag as well as an address, and forgetting it is the most common way bettors lose track of an XRP payment.
XRP moves in seconds and costs a tiny fraction of a cent to send, which on paper makes it one of the best coins for funding a betting account. In practice it comes with one extra field that other coins do not have, and that field is responsible for more lost-looking deposits than any network mistake. Six of the sportsbooks we compare list XRP. This page covers those XRP betting sites, and above all the destination tag.

The destination tag
Most sportsbooks do not create a separate XRP address for each customer. They give everyone the same address and a different destination tag, a number that tells their system whose payment it is. A deposit therefore needs two things:
| Field | What it is | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Address | Starts with r, the sportsbook's XRP account | The cashier's deposit screen |
| Destination tag | A number, unique to your account | The same screen, usually right under the address |
If you send XRP to the right address without the tag, the payment arrives at the sportsbook but its system cannot tell it is yours. It will not appear in your balance until support matches it by hand, using the transaction hash you provide. Some operators manage this quickly; some charge a fee; some take days. The fix is to copy both fields every time, and to check that your wallet or exchange has a “destination tag” or “memo” box filled in before you press send.
Some cashiers show an X-address instead, a longer format that packs the address and tag into one string. If your wallet supports X-addresses, the tag is included automatically; if it does not, ask the cashier for the classic address and tag instead.
Seconds to settle, almost nothing to send
The XRP Ledger closes a new ledger every three to five seconds, and a payment included in it is final. There is no waiting for several confirmations in the way bitcoin cashiers do. The minimum transaction cost is 10 drops, which is 0.00001 XRP, and the network raises it only slightly when busy. For a bettor that means deposit fees are effectively zero and a top-up made a minute before kick-off can be in the balance in time, provided the sportsbook credits it promptly.
The reserve: XRP you cannot send
Every account on the XRP Ledger must keep a reserve. Since December 2024 that is 1 XRP for the account itself plus 0.2 XRP for each object it owns, such as a trust line or an open offer. Wallets show this as a locked or unavailable amount. It is why “send all” leaves a little behind, and why a brand-new wallet needs at least the base reserve before it can receive anything. It does not affect a deposit to a sportsbook; it only affects how much of your own wallet balance can leave.

XRP is not a stablecoin. A balance held in it rises and falls with the market while bets are open, and the coin has had days of very large moves on legal and regulatory news. A winning bet paid in XRP can be worth more or less in dollars by the time you withdraw. If you want only the result of the match to move your balance, consider a stablecoin; our USDT betting sites page compares the options.
The terms do not change with the coin either. Each of these XRP betting sites keeps the right to ask for documents, and a large XRP win reaches the verification clause like any other.
Withdrawals: the tag works both ways
When you withdraw XRP to an exchange, the exchange almost certainly needs a destination tag too. Its deposit screen will show one. Enter it in the sportsbook's withdrawal form; a withdrawal sent without it lands at the exchange's shared address with nothing to link it to you. A self-custody wallet with its own address needs no tag, and most sportsbook withdrawal forms leave the field optional for that reason. Our fast withdrawal betting sites page covers how quickly each operator approves a payout, which is the slow part of any XRP withdrawal.
Why tags exist at all
The tag is not a quirk of sportsbooks; it is how the XRP Ledger was designed to be used by businesses. Each account on the ledger has to hold a reserve, and creating thousands of accounts, one per customer, would lock up a meaningful amount of XRP and add work for the operator. A single shared account with a numbered tag per customer avoids both. Exchanges use the same system, which is why the tag matters at both ends of a betting transfer. Once you see it as the account number that sits under a shared sort code, the habit of copying it becomes automatic.
Using XRP betting sites well
- Copy the address and the tag together, every time, and check the tag field before sending.
- Send a small test payment the first time you use a new cashier.
- Keep the transaction hash of every deposit until it is credited.
- Use the exchange's tag on withdrawals, or withdraw to a wallet with its own address.
All the coins are compared side by side in our crypto betting sites guide, and the full ranking of no verification betting sites covers every operator.
