Bet Calculator: Work Out Any Slip Before You Place It
Enter the odds and the results, choose the bet type, and the bet calculator shows the total stake, the return and the profit. It handles singles, accumulators, full-cover bets from a Trixie to a Goliath, round robins, each way and dead heats, in decimal, fractional or American odds.
A bet slip with one selection is easy to work out in your head. A Yankee with a void and an each-way place is not. This bet calculator does the arithmetic for every common bet type, so you can see what a slip returns before you place it, and check what a settled bet should have paid.

How to use the bet calculator
- Choose the bet type. Singles and accumulators take as many selections as you add; full-cover bets such as a Yankee set the number for you.
- Pick the odds format you are used to: decimal, fractional or American. Switching converts the odds you have typed.
- Enter the stake and say whether it is per bet or for the whole slip. A Lucky 15 at 1 per bet costs 15; a Lucky 15 with a total stake of 15 costs the same.
- Set each way if the slip is each way, with the place terms the site offers.
- Enter each result: won, placed, lost, void, or a dead heat.
The bets on the slip, the total stake, the total return and the profit update as you type.
The bet types, and how many bets each one is
| Bet type | Selections | Bets on the slip | What it contains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Double / treble | 2 / 3 | 1 | One bet, all must win |
| Accumulator or parlay | 4 or more | 1 | One bet, all must win |
| Trixie | 3 | 4 | 3 doubles, 1 treble |
| Patent | 3 | 7 | 3 singles, 3 doubles, 1 treble |
| Yankee | 4 | 11 | 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 four-fold |
| Lucky 15 | 4 | 15 | A Yankee plus 4 singles |
| Super Yankee (Canadian) | 5 | 26 | Every double up to the five-fold |
| Lucky 31 | 5 | 31 | A Super Yankee plus 5 singles |
| Heinz | 6 | 57 | Every double up to the six-fold |
| Lucky 63 | 6 | 63 | A Heinz plus 6 singles |
| Super Heinz | 7 | 120 | Every double up to the seven-fold |
| Goliath | 8 | 247 | Every double up to the eight-fold |
Each way doubles every number in the third column, because every line becomes a win bet and a place bet.
A round robin is the North American version of the same idea: you choose which sizes of parlay to combine, for example every two-team parlay from four selections, which is six bets.
How the return is calculated
For each bet on the slip, the stake is multiplied by the odds of every selection in it, in decimal form. A selection that loses makes that bet worth nothing. A void selection, such as a non-runner, counts as odds of 1.00, so the bet carries on with one leg fewer. The calculator adds every bet together to give the total return; profit is the return minus the total stake.
Two examples make the rules concrete:
- A treble at 2.10, 1.83 and 3.40, stake 10. Return: 10 × 2.10 × 1.83 × 3.40 = 130.66. Profit: 120.66.
- The same treble with the second leg void. It becomes a double: 10 × 2.10 × 3.40 = 71.40.
Each way and place terms
An each-way bet is two bets: a win part and a place part. The place part pays at a fraction of the win odds, usually a quarter or a fifth, if the selection finishes in the places. In an each-way multiple, the place part is its own multiple: every selection in it must win or place.
The terms come from the site and the race, not from the calculator. In horse racing they depend on the number of runners and the type of race, as explained on the horse racing betting page; in golf many sites pay extra places on big events, as set out on the golf betting page.
Dead heats
When two or more selections tie for the position you backed, the win part is paid on the stake divided by the number tied, at the full odds. Choose “Won, dead heat of 2” or “of 3” for that selection. Dead heats are common in golf top-finish markets and in racing photo finishes, and they are the most frequent reason a slip pays less than expected.
What the bet calculator does not include
- Bonuses on full-cover bets. Many sites pay extra on a Lucky 15 or Lucky 31 with one winner, or add a bonus when all selections win. They differ by site and are not in the figures.
- Rule 4. In racing, a withdrawal after the market has formed reduces fixed-odds winnings. The calculator shows the return before any deduction.
- Payout limits. Every site sets a maximum payout and a withdrawal ceiling. A large accumulator can exceed both.
When the return is bigger than the withdrawal limit
Full-cover bets and long accumulators are the slips that produce returns many times the stake. At sites that let you bet without sending documents first, two numbers matter once that happens: the withdrawal ceiling per day, week or month, and the point where identity documents can be requested. Both are in each operator's terms, and the grid below shows them.

The button in every row opens the same link: a sportsbook picked by this site for the country you visit from, not the operator named in the row.
A return above the ceiling is paid in parts; a return above the verification trigger is paid after documents. The fast withdrawal betting sites page compares the payout periods.
