Sports Betting: Every Sport, the Calendar and How Odds Work
Sports betting covers far more than football. This page is the map: what is on over the next three months and where our previews are, how each sport is priced and settled, how to read the margin in any price, the players and horses we profile, and the sports betting sites that skip ID at sign-up.

Sports betting is one account and one cashier covering hundreds of events a week, and almost everything else changes from one sport to the next. A football match has three outcomes and a draw that matters; a basketball game almost never ends level; a golf tournament has more than a hundred and fifty runners and settles four days after you bet. This page is the map of the whole site: what is coming up and where our previews are, how each sport is priced, how to read any price, and which sports betting sites let you start without sending documents.

Sports betting sites compared
The ranking below reads each operator's own terms for five things: when an identity check can be asked for, how much you can withdraw and how often, which coins the cashier names, which licence the site holds and whether the register confirms it. Every site in the table is rated Excellent or Good; the methodology explains what separates the two.

The table does not rank sports coverage. Every operator here runs a full sportsbook, but the depth of a given league or prop market differs from site to site and from week to week, and we only print what an operator's own pages say.

How each sport is priced and settled
The same stake behaves very differently from one sport to the next. This table compares the things that change the price and the settlement.
| Sport | Outcomes in the main market | What the bet settles on | Thinnest-margin market | Season |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Football | 3 (home, draw, away) | 90 minutes plus stoppage time | Match result, Asian handicap | Aug–May in Europe |
| Basketball | 2 | Includes overtime | Point spread | Oct–Jun (NBA) |
| NFL | 2 | Includes overtime | Point spread | Sep–Feb |
| Tennis | 2 | Match completion; retirement rules vary by site | Match winner | All year |
| Ice hockey | 3 in regulation, 2 on the moneyline | Regulation, or including overtime and shootout | Moneyline | Oct–Jun (NHL) |
| Baseball | 2 | Includes extra innings; pitcher rules vary | Moneyline | Mar–Oct |
| Cricket | 2 or 3 (Tests can draw) | Official result, including super overs in T20 | Match winner | All year |
| Horse racing | The whole field | Official result, Rule 4 for non-runners | Win and each way on big fields | All year |
| Golf | 150-plus players | 72 holes, dead-heat rules on places | Head-to-head matchups | All year |
| UFC and MMA | 2, draw rare | Official result | Moneyline | All year |
| Boxing | 3 (draw is a real outcome) | Official result | Moneyline | All year |
| Formula 1 | Whole grid | Podium at the end of the race | Teammate head-to-heads | Mar–Dec |
| Esports | 2 per match | Official result, map by map | Match winner | All year |
Two columns cause most disputes. What the bet settles on decides whether a late equaliser or an overtime winner counts. Outcomes decides how much margin each price has to absorb: a three-way football market spreads the margin over three prices, a golf outright over a hundred and fifty.
Sports betting odds: reading the margin in any price
Every price is a probability with the bookmaker's margin added. Turn a decimal price into a probability by dividing 1 by it: 2.00 is 50%, 1.50 is 66.7%, 4.00 is 25%. Add up the probabilities of every outcome in a market and the total is always above 100%. The amount above 100% is the margin.
A worked example. A tennis match priced at 1.90 on both players gives 52.6% + 52.6% = 105.3%, a margin of about 5.3%. The same match at 1.95 and 1.95 adds up to 102.6%, a margin of 2.6%. Over a season of bets, the second site keeps half as much of every stake. That difference is why sports betting odds are worth comparing before you place anything, and why our best odds betting sites page exists.
The odds calculator converts any format and shows the implied probability; the Poisson calculator prices football scores from expected goals; and the Kelly calculator turns an edge into a stake. Bet slips with more than one leg have their own tools, from the accumulator calculator to the system bet calculator.
Players, fighters and horses we profile
Individual sports are bet on people, and a price is only as good as what you know about the person behind it. We profile the athletes the markets turn on: form, record, wins and defeats, style, and our estimate of their chances in the next event.

Online sports betting: what changes between markets
The margin. It is thinnest where the most money is bet: the match winner in a top football league, the NFL spread, the NBA moneyline. It widens in smaller leagues, in player props and in outrights months ahead.
How fast the price moves. Tennis and basketball change point by point, which suits live betting. Cricket moves in sessions and overs. Golf moves shot by shot over four days. Football moves in jumps, with every goal and red card suspending the market. Our live betting guide explains the bet delay and why in-play margins are wider.
Singles, accumulators and systems. A single carries one margin. An accumulator multiplies the margins of every leg, so a ten-leg slip pays far below its fair price. A system bet buys cover against one loser at the cost of more stakes. The betting guides explain each market, from the Asian handicap to the bet builder.
SportsbookSportsbook and casino in one accountOpen sportsbook18+ · read the terms before your first depositHow to start sports betting in five steps
- Pick the sport you know. The price is set by people who watch the sport all day. Your edge, if you have one, is in the league or the tour you follow closely, not in a match you saw listed five minutes ago.
- Learn its settlement rule. Check the table above for what the bet settles on. Most first disputes are about overtime, extra time or a tennis retirement.
- Read the margin before the pick. Add up the implied probabilities of the market. Below 104% is a sharp price; above 108% is an expensive one.
- Bet singles first. A single carries one margin. Accumulators and systems are fine once you know what the extra legs cost, and our bet calculator shows it on any slip.
- Set a limit before you start. Decide what a week of sports betting may cost and use the deposit limits the site offers. The figure should be one you could lose in full without it mattering.
Sports betting tips and our predictions
Our previews are written by the editors named on each page and follow one rule: every price we print is our own estimate of a fair line, labelled as an estimate, and every fact behind it is listed in the page's sources. We do not sell tips and do not take payment for picks. The predictions hub gathers every upcoming preview in date order, so you can see what we think about this week's football, the NBA and the next esports final in one place.
Big wins and identity checks
Most sports bets are small and settle without anyone asking for a document. The exceptions are predictable. An eight-leg football accumulator, an ante-post winner at the Grand National or a long-priced golfer can turn a small stake into a payout many times the size of a normal withdrawal, and that is exactly the kind of figure that crosses an operator's verification trigger or its withdrawal ceiling.
The grid below shows both, as each sports betting site writes them. Read it before you place a long-odds bet, not after you have won it.
| Sportsbook | Processing period | Withdrawal ceiling | When ID can be asked | Link |
|---|---|---|---|---|

The button in every row opens the same link: a sportsbook picked by this site for the country you visit from, not the operator named in the row.
If a payout is above the weekly or monthly ceiling, the site will pay it, but in parts. If it is above the verification trigger, expect to send documents before the first part arrives. Both are in the terms you accept when you open the account, and the no verification betting sites comparison on our main page ranks the operators on them. If you want to set limits on time or money, the responsible gambling page lists the tools sites offer.
Sports betting by country
What people bet on changes from one country to the next, and so do kick-off times. Our country guides cover the sports each market follows, local time zones and the sportsbooks we would shortlist there: the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Nigeria and Kenya. Big brands such as Sky Bet and Stake are covered in our bookmaker reviews.
The smaller sports
- Table tennis runs almost round the clock, with short matches and quick settlement. Prices rely on recent form, and the lower-tier events carry wide margins.
- Volleyball and handball follow European club seasons and international tournaments. Handicap and total points markets are the deepest.
- Darts turns on averages and checkout rates; our darts betting page covers the formats. Snooker is bet on frame handicaps, and AFL on the line.
- Cycling is an outright sport like golf: stage winners, the general classification and head-to-heads.
- Kabaddi is priced mainly around India's professional league, with match winner and handicap markets.
- MotoGP mirrors Formula 1 with race winner, podium and head-to-head markets.
Where to watch
Leagues and broadcasters hold the rights to almost everything on this page, and the official channel is always the reliable picture. Some sports betting sites also stream selected events inside the account; coverage differs from site to site, so treat it as a convenience rather than a reason to choose a site.
The rest of the site starts from the crypto betting sites and the fast withdrawal betting sites.
