Mathieu Herbaut and Vitality's Run at a Fourth Major
Vitality's AWPer has three Major titles, three Major MVP awards and four HLTV Player of the Year titles. Here is his record, how 2026 has gone and what we make of Vitality in Singapore.

Mathieu Herbaut, who plays as ZywOo, holds the record for HLTV MVP awards with 33 and is the only player named HLTV Player of the Year four times. He is Team Vitality's AWPer, and Vitality won both Majors of 2025 with him as MVP each time. At the PGL Major Singapore, from 25 November to 13 December 2026, the question for bettors is whether the team that dominated the first half of the year is still the team to beat, after a quarter-final exit in Cologne and a slower summer.

Valve's 5 October standings list 37 Vitality series from 13 April to 20 September 2026: 26 wins and 11 defeats. Four of those defeats came between 21 August and 19 September, against Spirit, Inner Circle, MOUZ and Aurora, before Vitality beat Aurora and FURIA on 20 September to take the StarSeries title.

What is known about ZywOo
An AWPer who also rifles. The AWP is the most expensive weapon in the game, a one-shot rifle that holds long angles. He is Vitality's main AWP and also plays rifles, and HLTV made him its AWPer of the Year for 2025.
Consistency across years. He finished in HLTV's top three every year from 2019 to 2025: first four times, second twice, third once. Four Player of the Year titles is a record.
Best in finals. All three of his Majors ended with him as MVP, and in 2025 he took eight MVP awards, equalling the record for one calendar year; all eight came at Big Events, which no one had done before. His highest Big Event rating, 1.59, came at IEM Kraków in 2026.
What goes wrong. Single elimination has caught Vitality more than once. They lost Major quarter-finals in 2021, 2024 and 2026, and at Cologne in June a side that had won four titles that spring went out to Falcons in the first playoff round.
PGL Major Singapore 2026: chances and why
Our estimate, not a bookmaker price: Vitality win the Major about 20% of the time, a fair price near 5.00. We would want more than that before backing them outright.
- Title record. Back-to-back Major winners in 2025 and six titles in 2026 so far.
- Path to Stage 3. Liquipedia lists six European Stage 3 places, filled from Valve's standings after the qualifiers. Vitality are second in Europe, so a direct Stage 3 place is likely but not yet confirmed.
- A summer dip. From late August to mid-September they lost four series, almost as many as Spirit's five in the whole period Valve counts. The StarSeries win steadied that.
- Head to head. They beat Spirit 3–0 in the Rio final but lost to them on 21 August; Falcons removed them from Cologne. The three teams at the top are close.
- Format. Singapore uses the same single-elimination playoff as Cologne. A best-of-three quarter-final is where Vitality have tripped before.

How to bet on ZywOo
His influence shows up in team markets first, then in one player market.
- Vitality to win the series. The plain match price. At a Major the format matters: a best-of-one in the Swiss stages is far less predictable than a best-of-three.
- Map handicap. Vitality -1.5 maps needs a clean 2–0. Vitality +1.5 against a stronger side needs one map won. The handicap betting guide sets out how the line changes the payout.
- Total rounds. Over/under on rounds in one map. A close map that reaches overtime adds rounds; a one-sided one finishes early.
- Player kills. An over/under on his kills for a map or a set of maps. An AWPer's count depends on the economy: on rounds when the team cannot afford the rifle, his output usually falls, and a long map gives him more rounds to score.

How many Majors has ZywOo won?
Three: BLAST Paris 2023, BLAST.tv Austin 2025 and StarLadder Budapest 2025. He was the HLTV MVP at all three.
