Ilya Osipov: the Cologne Major MVP Heads to Singapore

Record

For years the story was finals lost. Before Cologne he had lost eight finals in a row; that run ended in Germany.

In the 34 Falcons series Valve counts from 13 April to 5 September 2026, the team won 25 and lost 9. After Cologne the split is closer: six wins and four defeats, against 100 Thieves, Legacy, MOUZ and Spirit. Valve's list has no Falcons series after 5 September.

What is known about m0NESY

Early and fast. He started on Counter-Strike 1.6 at five, was invited to FACEIT Pro League at 14 and joined G2 at 16. HLTV made him Rookie of the Year in 2022, and its AWPer of the Year in 2024.

A finals player who lost finals. His MVP awards at ESL Pro League Season 22 and BLAST Rivals Season 2 came in events Falcons did not win. His individual numbers held up even when the team fell one match short.

Structure since April. Falcons won the Cologne Major 62 days after karrigan arrived, and the five who lifted the trophy are the five Valve lists today.

The open question. Since Cologne Falcons have lost four of ten series, and Valve's list shows nothing after 5 September. Whether that is a dip or a decline, the autumn events before Singapore will show.

PGL Major Singapore 2026: chances and why

Our estimate, not a bookmaker price: Falcons have roughly a 14% chance of winning the Major, a fair price around 7.00. That puts them third on our list behind Spirit and Vitality.

1. Title holders. Falcons won the last Major and beat both of the teams above them on the way.
2. Stage 3 line. Liquipedia says six European teams go straight to Stage 3, picked from Valve's standings after the qualifiers. Falcons are fifth, one place inside that line, so a weaker autumn could push them into Stage 2. Their place is expected, not confirmed.
3. Form since June. Six wins and four defeats is a contender's record, not a favourite's. Spirit beat them in the Astana final and again on 5 September.
4. Map pool change. Cache comes into the Singapore pool and Overpass, used in Cologne, is out. Every team has to adjust, the champions included, and how well each one has done so will only show in the first matches.
5. Single elimination. Their Cologne run shows how a team can win three best-of-threes in a row. The same format can also end a run in one evening.

Compare with donk and Team Spirit and ZywOo and Vitality. Format and stage dates are on our Singapore Major guide.

How to bet on m0NESY

The markets that carry his form are the same ones that carry Falcons'.

• Series winner. The price on Falcons to win the match. In the Swiss stages many games are best-of-one, where an upset is more likely.
• Map handicap. Falcons -1.5 is a bet that they win every map of a best-of-three; +1.5 on an opponent is a bet that it takes at least one. Lines and payouts are explained in the handicap betting guide.
• Total rounds. A line on rounds played in one map. Evenly matched teams tend to play longer maps, so lines are set higher for close pairings.
• Player kills. His over/under for one map or for maps one and two. When the line covers the first two maps only, a deciding third map does not count. Overtime treatment differs between sportsbooks; check it before you bet.

To turn our 14% into a comparable price, use the odds calculator. If you plan to back Falcons over several matches, the parlay calculator shows what a combined bet pays.

Where to watch

PGL carries the Major on its official Twitch, YouTube and Kick channels, with a primary and a secondary English broadcast. Separately, some betting sites stream chosen matches or show a live match tracker once you are logged in. Our list includes sites that do, but each covers a different set of games.
