Sean Brady Against Gabriel Bonfim: Record, Style and Our Numbers
The Philadelphia grappler headlines a UFC Fight Night on 7 November against Gabriel Bonfim, in a fight between two of the top six welterweights. His record, what the statistics show, and the chance we give him.
Sean Brady headlines the UFC card of 7 November 2026 at the Meta Apex in Nevada, against Gabriel Bonfim. They are the sixth- and fifth-ranked welterweights, and with Islam Makhachev holding the belt, the winner moves into the short list of possible challengers. Brady is 19–2, has never lost a fight that went past the second round, and wins mostly on the scorecards. That last detail shapes most of the markets on this fight.

What is known about Sean Brady
UFC.com lists his style as jiu-jitsu, but the statistics describe a wrestler as much as a submission artist:
- 3.58 takedowns per fifteen minutes
- 87% takedown defence, the figure that makes him hard to beat on the mat
- 4.08 significant strikes landed per minute, at 53% accuracy
- 0.82 submission attempts per fifteen minutes
He takes opponents down, keeps them there and wins rounds. When a finish comes, it is usually late and on the ground: the guillotine on Edwards came in the fourth round, and the kimura on Gastelum and the arm-triangle on Matthews in the third. His five-round decision over Burns shows he can keep that pace for 25 minutes.
The weakness is just as visible. Muhammad and Morales both stopped him with punches, Morales inside the first round in November 2025. He came back in May 2026 with a three-round decision over Joaquin Buckley, now ranked tenth, and that is his only fight since the Morales loss.
The opponent: Gabriel Bonfim
Bonfim is Brazilian, was born on 20 August 1997, and is a former LFA welterweight champion. He is 20–1, and the profile is close to the opposite of Brady's: thirteen submissions, four knockouts and only three decisions. His only loss was a TKO against Nicolas Dalby in November 2023. Since then he has won five in a row, including a split decision over Stephen Thompson in July 2025, a knee knockout of Randy Brown in November 2025 and a unanimous decision over Belal Muhammad in June 2026, the same man who stopped Brady.
Bonfim vs Brady: chances and why
Our estimate, not a bookmaker price: Brady 46%, about 2.17 fair decimal odds; Bonfim 54%, about 1.85. Quoted odds will be shorter on both sides once the margin is built in.
The reasons behind the split:
- Grappler against grappler. Brady's 87% takedown defence meets a man with thirteen submissions. If Brady takes it to the mat, he is entering Bonfim's best area as well as his own.
- The common opponent. Muhammad beat Brady inside two rounds and lost a decision to Bonfim. One shared result is weak evidence, but it nudges us towards Bonfim.
- Form and age. Bonfim is 29 and on a five-fight run; Brady is 33 and one fight removed from a first-round loss.
- Five rounds help Brady. As a main event, this goes five rounds. Brady has won over that distance; Bonfim's wins are mostly finishes, and the later rounds are where Brady's control should count.
Our view: Bonfim's submission threat makes him a slight favourite, but a Brady decision is the outcome we would price closest to evens among the method markets.

His style makes some markets more useful than others:
- Moneyline. Use the odds calculator to see what a quote implies, then compare it with our 46%.
- Brady by decision. Ten of his nineteen wins went to the cards. If you back him, this is the method most in line with his record.
- Fight goes the distance. Brady's fights usually do, Bonfim's usually don't. In our view the price on “yes” should sit near evens, which makes it a reasonable way to bet on Brady's style without needing him to win.
- Total rounds. Expect the main line at 4.5 or 3.5. Under backs Bonfim's finishing record; over backs Brady's control.
- Round of finish. A Bonfim submission in rounds one to three is the longer-priced way to back the favourite.
- In-play. If Brady wins the first round with takedowns, his price will shorten fast. The live betting guide explains what you give up on margin to bet between rounds.

Where to watch
The card is shown by the UFC's broadcast partners, and which channel or service carries it depends on where you are. Several of the betting sites in our comparison also stream a selection of fights inside the account area once you sign in. Our shortlist leans towards sites with that option, but the events each one covers are not the same, so confirm before the card begins.
For the other divisions, see the Alexander Volkanovski profile ahead of his title defence in October, and Charles Oliveira before the lightweight BMF fight in December.
