Canelo Álvarez fights Christian M'billi on Saturday 31 October 2026 in Riyadh, and for once Canelo is the challenger. M'billi holds the WBC super middleweight belt and has not lost in thirty professional fights; Canelo has not boxed since Terence Crawford beat him on all three cards in September 2025. The Canelo vs Mbilli odds therefore set a famous name against three awkward questions: age, inactivity and the work rate of a younger man.

The fight: what is confirmed

DateSaturday 31 October 2026
CityRiyadh, Saudi Arabia
VenueThe Venue, per the Riyadh Season ticket announcement
TitleWBC super middleweight, M'billi defending
Scheduled lengthTwelve rounds
CardRiyadh Season, billed “Mexico vs. The World”
RecordsCanelo 63–3–2 (39 KO); M'billi 29–0–1 (24 KO)

The bout was first booked for 12 September and then pushed back seven weeks; Canelo said he had family matters to deal with before camp. One early report placed the fight at Kingdom Arena, but the organisers' ticket release names The Venue. Treat the date as firm and anything else as subject to change until fight week.

The undercard is not settled. Reports have linked Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov to the vacant IBF super lightweight title, and Rafael Espinoza to a WBO featherweight defence against Lorenzo Parra, yet when tickets went on sale only the main event was officially attached to the billing.

Canelo at 36: age, rust and the scorecards

Canelo was born on 18 July 1990, so he walks in at 36. By fight night he will have been out of the ring for more than thirteen months, and after the Crawford fight he needed surgery on his elbow. That is the longest break of his recent career, and it comes straight after a clear defeat.

The more useful number for a bettor is how his fights end. His last win inside the distance was against Caleb Plant in November 2021, stopped in round eleven. All eight fights since then went to the cards:

  • Six wins by unanimous decision: Golovkin, Ryder, Charlo, Munguía, Berlanga and Scull.
  • Two losses by unanimous decision: Dmitry Bivol in May 2022 and Crawford in September 2025.
  • Across his whole record, no stoppage defeat: Mayweather, Bivol and Crawford all beat him on points.

The Crawford cards read 116–112, 115–113 and 115–113. CompuBox credited Crawford with 115 punches landed to Canelo's 99, and 45 jabs to 16, while Canelo landed more power shots, 83 to 70. Busier fighters with a working jab have now beaten him twice in four years. Our full profile of Canelo Álvarez covers the longer history.

M'billi: the champion with no twelfth round

M'billi, a Cameroon-born French fighter, was born in Yaoundé on 26 April 1995. He is 31, stands 5 ft 8½ in with a 72-inch reach, and his nickname is Solide. The WBC made him full champion in January 2026.

His record splits cleanly by how far fights go:

How his fights endedCount
Stopped the opponent in rounds 1–417
Stopped the opponent in rounds 5–86
Stopped the opponent in round 9 or later1
Decision win (all at eight or ten rounds)5
Split draw over ten rounds (Lester Martínez)1

Two facts from that table shape the Canelo vs Mbilli odds in the round markets. He has never seen round eleven, and his only twelve-round booking, against Maciej Sulęcki for the interim title in June 2025, finished in the first. Against the better names, the picture is less explosive: Sergiy Derevyanchenko took him ten rounds in August 2024, and Martínez held him to a split draw on the Canelo-Crawford undercard.

Reading the price as a chance

Any decimal price converts to a probability with one division: 1 ÷ price. A price of 2.00 means 50%, 1.50 means about 67%, 4.00 means 25%.

Take an illustrative pair, not a quote from any sportsbook: Canelo 1.70 and M'billi 2.20. That gives 58.8% and 45.5%, which add to 104.3%. The extra 4.3 points are the margin. Divide each figure by 1.043 and the book's own view comes out at about 56% and 44%, before the draw is priced separately. The odds calculator does the arithmetic for any pair, including three-way prices with the draw.

Run the real Canelo vs Mbilli odds through it when they appear and set the result against the estimate below. Where the gap is a few points, there is nothing to act on; where it is wide, one of us has read the fight differently.

Our estimate and pick

Our view, not a bookmaker price, and no outcome here is certain:

OutcomeOur chanceFair price (estimate)
Canelo on points38%2.63
Canelo inside the distance18%5.56
M'billi on points17%5.88
M'billi inside the distance24%4.17
Draw3%33.0
Fight goes the full twelve58%1.72

Added up, that makes Canelo 56% and M'billi 41%, fair prices near 1.79 and 2.44.

Why Canelo stays ahead: twelve-round fights are his habit and unknown territory for M'billi, nobody has stopped him in sixty-eight fights, and he has shared a ring with a much higher class of opponent. Why the gap is not wider: the layoff, the elbow, and two recent defeats to men who simply threw more. M'billi's best route is pressure early, while the legs are fresh and before the championship rounds he has never boxed.

Our pick: Canelo on points is the single most likely result. If the Canelo vs Mbilli odds on that line sit well above our 2.63, it is the price we would take. On the other side, M'billi inside rounds one to six is the outcome we rate most underpriced if the market treats him purely as an outsider.

The markets, one by one

  1. Fight result. Two-way or three-way. Check whether the draw is a separate outcome or voids the bet; Canelo has two draws on his record, M'billi one.
  2. Method of victory. Splits each fighter's win into points or stoppage. With eight straight decisions behind Canelo, his points line is where most Canelo vs Mbilli odds will be shortest.
  3. Round groups. Bands such as 1–3, 4–6, 7–9 and 10–12 for each fighter. Seventeen of M'billi's twenty-four stoppages came in the first four rounds, though many were early in his career against modest opposition.
  4. Total rounds. A line such as 9.5 or 10.5. Half a round means the midpoint, so over 10.5 needs the fight to pass 1 minute 30 seconds of round eleven. M'billi has never reached that point; Canelo has done it eight times in a row.
  5. Goes the distance. A yes/no on whether the final bell rings in round twelve. Our 58% makes yes a fair 1.72.

The general rules for each of these, including how a technical decision is settled, are on our boxing betting guide.

Where to watch

The organisers have sold the card as a DAZN pay-per-view, with price and access set country by country. Some betting accounts carry boxing streams once you are logged in, more often for undercard bouts than for a pay-per-view headliner. We picked sites that offer that feature, but what each one shows changes with the event, so confirm on the night rather than rely on it.

Streams are shown to signed-in accounts on selected events, and the list differs between betting sites and between matches. 18+.
