Serie A 2026-27: Table, Pricing and Our Picks for Matchday 6
Serie A returns on 10 October after an international break that began on 21 September. Roma, Inter and Lazio share the lead on 13 points after five rounds, and the next weekend opens with Inter against Parma and closes with Torino against Udinese.
Italian football has a reputation for patience: compact defences, slow build-up and matches settled by one goal or not at all. That reputation shapes the prices, and it is the first thing to test before any Serie A predictions are made. This page gives the table as it stands after five rounds, explains how Italian matches are priced, and sets out our view on the five most interesting fixtures of matchday 6, from 10 to 12 October 2026.

The 2026–27 season so far
The season began on 22 August 2026 and paused after matchday 5, played from 18 to 20 September. The international break ran from 21 September to 6 October, so the table below is the latest one. It comes from ESPN's standings, checked on 5 October.
| Pos | Club | W-D-L | Goals | Pts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Roma | 4-1-0 | 14–3 | 13 |
| 2 | Inter | 4-1-0 | 15–8 | 13 |
| 3 | Lazio | 4-1-0 | 8–3 | 13 |
| 4 | Cagliari | 4-0-1 | 5–2 | 12 |
| 5 | AC Milan | 3-2-0 | 10–4 | 11 |
| 6 | Frosinone | 3-1-1 | 9–4 | 10 |
| 7 | Juventus | 3-1-1 | 8–4 | 10 |
| 8 | Como | 3-1-1 | 9–6 | 10 |
| 18 | Bologna | 0-2-3 | 3–6 | 2 |
| 19 | Genoa | 0-1-4 | 3–10 | 1 |
| 20 | Venezia | 0-0-5 | 4–13 | 0 |
Roma lead on goal difference. Donyell Malen was named Player of the Month for August and September after six goals in five games, including a hat-trick against Fiorentina on the opening weekend. Roma's only dropped points came in a 2–2 draw with Inter, the reigning champions, on 19 September.
The surprise is Frosinone. Promoted with Venezia and Monza, they have 10 points, and their coach Massimiliano Alvini took the Coach of the Month award. Their 2–0 win over Como on matchday 5 was not a fluke result against a weak side; Como are eighth. At the other end, Venezia have lost all five and Bologna are still without a win.
How Serie A is priced: draws, low totals and handicaps
The old picture of Serie A is a league of 1–0s. Sportsbooks know the picture, and the opening prices on the draw and on Under 2.5 goals tend to reflect it. The question for a bettor is whether this season matches the picture, and five rounds say it does not, at least yet.
By our own count from the table, the first 50 matches produced 145 goals, an average of 2.9 per game, and only nine ended in a draw. Matchday 5 was quieter: 24 goals in ten matches and three draws. These are small samples and we do not build a season-long rule on them, but they are a warning against Serie A predictions that back the draw or the under simply because the league is Italian.
Where the tight-match idea does hold is at club level. Cagliari have 12 points from five games with five goals scored and two conceded, so their matches have averaged 1.4 goals. Lazio sit on 8–3. Those are the teams whose matches suit the under and the correct-score market, where a 1–0 or 1–1 carries a shorter price than in most leagues.
Handicaps work best at the extremes. When a leading side meets one of the bottom three, the result price on the favourite is often too short to be worth taking, and the Asian handicap at -1 or -1.25 gives a better return for the same view. In matches between sides in the top half, the draw-no-bet line is the cleaner tool: it removes the draw, which Italian matches still produce often enough to sink a straight win bet.
Matchday 6 after the October break: our Serie A predictions
Matchday 6 runs from Saturday 10 October to Monday 12 October. All ten fixtures are listed by the league; we picked the five where we have a clear view. The prices are our estimates of a fair price, not quotes from any sportsbook.
| Fixture | Date | Our view | Expected price (estimate) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inter v Parma | Sat 10 Oct | Inter -1.5 Asian handicap | 1.90 |
| Napoli v Frosinone | Sat 10 Oct | Frosinone +0.5 | 2.10 |
| Como v Roma | Sun 11 Oct | Roma draw no bet | 1.85 |
| Sassuolo v AC Milan | Sun 11 Oct | Milan to win | 2.05 |
| Cagliari v Juventus | Sun 11 Oct | Under 2.5 goals | 1.70 |
The Milan derby on 31 October has a full AC Milan v Inter preview.
Inter v Parma. Inter have scored 15 in five games, the most in the league, and Parma have four. Parma did win their last match, 2–1 against Genoa, but a win over the bottom three is not evidence for an away day at Inter. Our view is Inter by two clear goals; the straight win price will be too short to bother with.
Napoli v Frosinone. Napoli are ninth with seven points and drew 1–1 at Fiorentina before the break. Frosinone have conceded four in five and press high under Alvini. The market will make Napoli clear favourites on reputation. We think the gap is narrower, and Frosinone not to lose is the price our Serie A predictions lean on this weekend.
Como v Roma. Como lost 2–0 at Frosinone last time out, their first defeat. Roma have conceded three, second only to Cagliari's two. We expect Roma to be priced near evens on the win; draw no bet protects the stake if Como hold them, which a home side can.
Sassuolo v AC Milan. Milan are unbeaten with two draws and beat Lecce 3–0 before the break. Sassuolo's goal record is 9–9 and they lost 2–1 at newly promoted Monza. Our view is a Milan win, and it is the most confident of our Serie A predictions for the weekend.
Cagliari v Juventus. Kick-off is 20:45 CEST on Sunday. Cagliari's 5–2 goal record is the clearest low-total profile in the league, and Juventus have conceded four in five. We see a tight match and take Under 2.5 goals; a 1–0 either way or 1–1 is our correct-score shortlist.

Everything in this section is opinion, like the rest of our Serie A predictions. Five rounds out of 38 is too early for the table to carry much weight, and outright prices move slowly at this point of the season.
Scudetto. Inter are the champions and the most productive attack, and the 2–2 at Roma showed little between the two. Our view is that Inter remain the side to beat, but Roma's defence makes them the value against the favourite if their price drifts above 5.00 (our estimate of where it should sit).
Champions League places. Lazio and Cagliari are on 13 and 12 points with few goals conceded. We think Lazio can stay in the race; Cagliari's start rests on a very low goal total, and that kind of record tends to fade. Juventus and Milan, on 10 and 11 points, are the two we would expect to climb.
Relegation. Three clubs go down. Venezia have no points and have conceded 13. Genoa have one point. Bologna's two points look like a slow start rather than a true level, and we would not back them for the drop on five games. Our view: Venezia and Genoa are the two most likely to fall, with the third place open.
Where to place the bet is a separate question, answered on our page about no verification bookmakers.

Where to watch Serie A
Matches are shown by national broadcasters, which differ from country to country, alongside the league's own channels. In Italy, the official fixture list for matchday 6 shows DAZN on every match and Sky on three of them. Check your local rights holder before kick-off, since rights change between seasons.
A number of betting sites also stream some matches inside the account for signed-in customers, and the sites we picked include ones that do. Which leagues they carry, and how many matches, depends on the site and on your country.
More football
The football betting hub explains result, totals and handicap markets in more depth. For other leagues see our La Liga page and our Champions League guide. If price matters most to you, our best odds sites compare margins, and the sports index lists every sport on the site.
We will update these Serie A predictions before the first midweek round on 28 October. The league pauses again for internationals from 9 to 17 November.
