Wyndham Clark profile: from 46th to fifth, a second US Open and what comes next
Wyndham Clark began 2026 outside the world's top 40 and ends the season fifth, with a second US Open, the BMW Championship and the Byron Nelson. His Augusta record is thin and his 2025 was poor. Here is how that adds up for the Masters and the Ryder Cup.
Wyndham Clark is the hardest of the world's top five to price. He has won two US Opens, three times in 2026 and climbed from 46th to fifth in the world inside a season, yet he has never finished in the top 20 at Augusta and missed the cut at two of this year's four majors. Bettors looking at the 2027 Masters and the American team for Adare Manor need to decide which version of him turns up.

Record: six wins and the major results
| Date | Event | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 7 May 2023 | Wells Fargo Championship | Won at −19, by four from Xander Schauffele |
| 18 Jun 2023 | US Open, Los Angeles Country Club | Won at −10, by one from Rory McIlroy |
| 4 Feb 2024 | AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am | Won at −17 over 54 holes, by one from Ludvig Åberg |
| 24 May 2026 | CJ Cup Byron Nelson | Won at −30, by three from Si Woo Kim |
| 21 Jun 2026 | US Open, Shinnecock Hills | Won at −4, by one from Sam Burns |
| 23 Aug 2026 | BMW Championship, Bellerive | Won at −17, by three from Patrick Cantlay |
The 2026 run came out of a bad stretch. He finished 2024 seventh in the world, fell to 33rd by November 2025 and missed the Bethpage Ryder Cup team. At the Byron Nelson he closed with a 60 for a 30-under total, one shot outside the PGA Tour's 72-hole record. At Shinnecock he led after every round, took a six-shot lead into Sunday, shot 73 and still won by one. He was the first wire-to-wire US Open winner since Martin Kaymer in 2014. At the BMW he shared the lead with McIlroy after 11 holes on Sunday and birdied the last three to win.
His majors split into two kinds of week:
- US Open: won 2023 and 2026, missed the cut in three of his other four starts
- Masters: missed cut 2024, tied 46th 2025, tied 21st 2026
- PGA Championship: cuts made in two of six starts, best a tie for 50th
- The Open: tied 4th in 2025, missed the cut at Birkdale in 2026
That is three top-five finishes from 20 major starts, and two of them were wins.
What is known about Wyndham Clark
Approach play carries him. Before the 2026 US Open the PGA Tour's season numbers had him 14th in strokes gained on approach and 20th around the green, 19th in strokes gained total.
Driving was the weak number. He ranked 94th off the tee at −0.069, even though his average drive of 309.1 yards was 44th on tour. His college coach at Oregon, Casey Martin, called him a “freakishly long” driver, but the 2026 figures show length without much accuracy gain.
The putter turned his year. Over his five starts before Shinnecock he averaged a full stroke a round gained on the greens, against 0.120 for the season. A hot putter is the single thing that has separated his winning weeks from his missed cuts.
Big totals. A 60 at Pebble Beach in 2024, a 60 to win the Byron Nelson and two rounds of 64 to open at Bellerive. When he scores, he goes deep.
Masters 2027: chances and why
The 2027 Masters runs from 8 to 11 April. Clark will be there: under the 2026 invitation categories, US Open champions of the previous five years are invited, and he has won it twice.
Our estimate: about 2.5% to win, a fair price near 40/1. This is our estimate, not a bookmaker price.
Reasons:
- The form is real. Three wins in 2026, one of them a major and one a playoff event, and fifth in the world.
- The course record is not. Three starts, one missed cut and a best of 21st. Augusta has not yet rewarded his game.
- The driving numbers are a concern. Losing shots off the tee across a season is a weak base for a green jacket, whatever the length.
- He is streaky. His wins come in bursts. A good spring could move this number quickly, in either direction.

Ryder Cup 2027: his role at Adare Manor
The United States go to Adare Manor in County Limerick for 17 to 19 September 2027 under Jim Furyk. Six players qualify on points earned between The American Express in January and the BMW Championship in August 2027, and Furyk adds six picks. Winning a major is worth 3,000 points.
Clark's only Ryder Cup was Rome in 2023, where he went 1–1–1 and lost his singles to Robert MacIntyre. He was third on the US points list for the 2026 Presidents Cup, ahead of Sam Burns and Russell Henley, and the Americans won at Medinah. The 2027 points race starts from zero, and he begins it alongside Cameron Young and Russell Henley.
Our view: if he keeps his 2026 level into the spring he will qualify on points. If the slump of 2025 returns, he becomes a pick candidate whose case rests on two US Opens. Markets for the matches themselves are on our Ryder Cup page.

- Outright and each way. His results are either very good or a missed cut, which fits each-way betting in fields where he has form. Run the numbers on the each way calculator.
- Make or miss the cut. He has made the cut in ten of 20 major starts. Missing it is a real outcome for him, and some sites price it.
- Top 10 and top 20. Better suited to the US Open than Augusta on what he has done so far.
- First-round leader. He opened with 64 at both of his US Open wins and at the BMW. A player who starts fast in his best weeks fits this market.
- Matchups. Against a steadier player of a similar price, the matchup puts his volatility to work in one direction or the other.

Where to watch
Golf rights are sold country by country. The majors and PGA Tour events go to national broadcasters, and the championships stream selected groups and highlights through their own websites and apps. Check the official listings where you are.
Betting sites sometimes show golf in the logged-in area as well, usually a few groups and not every round. We have marked sites where this is available, but coverage is not the same at each one, so check what is on before the week begins.
Set a budget before you bet. Our responsible gambling page explains the limits sites offer.
