Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: The Record, the Knockdowns and Our Price
Anthony Joshua finally meets Tyson Fury on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the WBA (Super) heavyweight title on the line. He arrives on two knockout wins and two recent trips to the canvas. Here is the record and how we read the price.
Anthony Joshua fights Tyson Fury on Friday 11 December 2026 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, a fight first discussed a decade ago and announced at last on 24 September. The WBA (Super) heavyweight title is on the line. Joshua comes in on knockout wins over Jake Paul and Kristian Prenga, but Prenga put him on the floor twice in the first round in July, and that is the first thing anyone reading Anthony Joshua odds will weigh. The second is Fury, who has lost only to Oleksandr Usyk. The Fury v Joshua odds page covers both corners.

Record: knockouts both ways
Thirty-four fights. Since the first Ruiz fight, the record reads like this, newest first.
| Date | Opponent | Result | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 Jul 2026 | Kristian Prenga | Won, KO round 2 | Jeddah Superdome, Jeddah |
| 19 Dec 2025 | Jake Paul | Won, KO round 6 | Kaseya Center, Miami |

| 12 Dec 2020 | Kubrat Pulev | Won, KO round 9 | Wembley Arena, London |
| 7 Dec 2019 | Andy Ruiz Jr. | Won, unanimous decision | Diriyah Arena |
| 1 Jun 2019 | Andy Ruiz Jr. | Lost, TKO round 7 | Madison Square Garden, New York |
Two kinds of loss sit in that list. Usyk beat him twice on the scorecards by outboxing him. Ruiz and Dubois knocked him out, and Dubois did it the hard way, dropping him in the first, third, fourth and fifth rounds. The Prenga night belongs to the second group, even though Joshua won it: an uppercut put him down inside the first 30 seconds, a second knockdown followed before the bell, and he recovered to end it at 2:43 of round two.
What the table says to a bettor is simple. Joshua fights end early much more often than not, whoever wins them. Only four of the twelve above went the distance, and that ratio should sit behind any Anthony Joshua odds on the rounds markets.
What is known about Anthony Joshua
His best boxing has come when he keeps the fight long. In the Ruiz rematch he weighed 237 lb, nearly ten pounds lighter than in the first fight, kept Ruiz at the end of the jab and used lateral movement to avoid trading up close, and won clearly on all three cards. Against Franklin he was tentative and clinched often, but he still used the jab to set up the right hand and won 117–111, 117–111 and 118–111.
The right hand is the finishing punch. Paul was dropped four times before being counted out; against Ngannou and Prenga the fights ended in the second round. Twenty-seven of thirty wins came inside the distance.
The concern is how often he has been hurt. Ruiz, Dubois and Prenga all put him down, and the two most recent knockdowns came within the last two years. For Anthony Joshua odds against Fury, the question is not whether Joshua can land, but whether he can avoid the shots that dropped him in July.
Fury vs Joshua: chances and why
Tyson Fury is 36–2–1 with 25 knockouts, born on 12 August 1988. Both defeats were to Usyk. He returned from fifteen months out in April 2026 and beat Arslanbek Makhmudov on scores of 120–108, 120–108 and 119–109, then stopped 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in Thailand when Wach's corner pulled him out after round seven. Together the two men bring 66 wins and 52 knockouts.
Our estimate, not a bookmaker price: Fury 52%, a fair price of about 1.92; Joshua 45%, about 2.22; the draw 3%, about 33.0. Quoted Anthony Joshua odds will sit shorter than 2.22 once the margin is added. Our odds calculator does the conversion if you want to compare a site's price with ours.
Why Fury edges it for us:
- Only Usyk has beaten him, and both times on points. In our view Joshua's two defeats against Usyk were the long, technical kind of fight that suits Fury.
- Joshua's recent knockdowns. Prenga dropped him twice in one round; a bigger, more experienced opponent will have watched that tape.
- Twelve-round form. Fury won every round on two cards against Makhmudov in April.
Why Joshua is close:
- Power. Twenty-seven knockouts, and all of his last four wins came inside the distance.
- Age and activity on both sides. Fury will be 38 and took a long break before April; neither man is the fighter of 2016.
Our view on method: a stoppage either way is slightly more likely than a decision, with Fury on points the single most likely outcome and Joshua by knockout close behind.

The markets are covered in our boxing betting guide. Here is how they fit this fight.
- Moneyline. The win by any method; the headline line among Anthony Joshua odds. Check the draw rule before betting a two-way price.
- Method of victory. Joshua's record makes Joshua by KO, TKO or disqualification the natural angle for his backers. Joshua has won on points only twice in the twelve fights listed above.
- Round betting and grouped rounds. Both Prenga knockdowns came in round one and Joshua won in round two. An early band such as rounds one to four covers the most volatile part of a Joshua fight.
- Total rounds. If you think Fury boxes his way to a decision, the over is the cleaner bet than naming the winner.
The WBC president said in August that the fight would be approved as a final eliminator for the WBC title, so the result also shapes the Anthony Joshua odds for whatever comes next. Daniel Dubois, who knocked Joshua out in 2024, now holds the WBO belt.
Where to watch
The fight was announced as a Netflix event, the same platform that carried Joshua against Paul; check what is available in your country. Some betting sites also carry boxing inside the account, though usually supporting bouts rather than a stadium headline fight, and we selected sites that offer it. What each one shows varies, so look before the ring walks.
Two more profiles in the series: Jake Paul, knocked out by Joshua in Miami, and Canelo Álvarez, who fights in Riyadh on 31 October. For an account that opens without uploading documents first, see our list of no-verification betting sites.
