Gumayusi Goes for a Fourth Straight World Title, Now With Hanwha Life
Lee Min-hyeong won three World Championships with T1 and was Finals MVP in 2025, then moved to Hanwha Life. In his first season there he won the Mid-Season Invitational and reached the LCK final, so Worlds 2026 tests whether the change of shirt changes the outcome.
Gumayusi, real name Lee Min-hyeong, is the bot laner (ADC) of Hanwha Life Esports and the reigning Worlds Finals MVP. He won the last three World Championships with T1 before switching teams in November 2025, and his new side took the Mid-Season Invitational in July. At Worlds 2026, from 15 October to 14 November in the United States, he can win a fourth straight title, this time in a different shirt, and Hanwha Life are one of the three Korean sides the market will price near the top.

His MSI 2026 run ended with four series won and one lost, and Zeus was named Finals MVP. Hanwha Life qualified for Worlds as MSI champions and were then seeded second from Korea on their LCK result.
What is known about Gumayusi
A carry who plays the big stage. The 2025 Finals MVP came on Miss Fortune, Kalista and Varus across the five games against KT Rolster. Liquipedia lists Jhin, Varus, Jinx, Lucian and Aphelios as his most played champions, a mix of utility and pure damage picks that fits a Fearless Draft series, where a champion used once is gone for the rest of the match.
High-volume aggression. In Spring 2022 he set an LCK record with 219 kills in one season, playing on a T1 side that did not lose a series. His style has always leaned towards fights rather than safe farming.
Adapted quickly to a new team. First place in the first two LCK rounds, then the MSI title in his first half-season, suggests the move cost little. The MSI path is worth reading closely: Hanwha Life lost the upper final 1–3 to Bilibili and still beat them 3–2 a few days later.
The open question. Hanwha Life lost the 2026 LCK final to Gen.G 1–3. That is the one recent best-of-five against the domestic champion we can point to, and Korean sides can only meet each other from the second Swiss round onwards, which often means late in the event.
Worlds 2026: chances and why
Our estimate puts Hanwha Life at 16 per cent to win the title, a fair price of 6.25. This is an editorial estimate, not a bookmaker price, and not a recommendation to bet.
What drives the figure:
- They beat the best of China at MSI. A 3–2 final over Bilibili, the LPL's second seed for Worlds, is the strongest international result by any Korean side this year.
- Round one is manageable. As a pool 2 team they draw a pool 3 side from another region: LYON, Movistar KOI or Top Esports.
- Proven finals players. Gumayusi was Finals MVP in 2025, Zeus in the MSI final this year. Few rosters have two players who have decided a best-of-five final in the past twelve months.
- Against: the Gen.G result. A 1–3 loss in the LCK final came less than five weeks before Worlds.
- Against: the field. Gen.G and T1 from Korea, plus Bilibili and Anyone's Legend from China, are all credible winners. That spread keeps any single price from going very short.
How to bet on Gumayusi
The useful markets are team markets with a few player lines on top.
- Hanwha Life outright. Backing the MSI champion at a price longer than our 6.25 would be value on our numbers; shorter would not.
- Stage betting. Reaching the quarterfinals or semifinals lets you back the side's consistency without needing four best-of-five wins.
- Map handicaps in best-of-fives. Hanwha Life won two MSI series 3–2. If you expect close series against Chinese or Korean opposition, the +1.5 map line on the underdog side carries the logic. The handicap betting guide covers the maths.
- ADC player props. Where sportsbooks list kill totals for individual players, the bot laner usually has the highest line on the team. Check whether the line follows the draft: a utility pick lowers his kill ceiling.
- Accumulators. Linking several best-of-one Swiss games raises the variance sharply. The parlay calculator shows how fast the combined price drops in value.
Where to watch
Riot Games carries the whole tournament on the official LoL Esports channels on Twitch and YouTube, with language feeds run by the regional leagues. A number of sportsbooks also put streams or match trackers inside the account for selected fixtures; the sites we chose have this, but what each one carries is different, so do not rely on a single site for every Hanwha Life match.
