LoL Betting: How to Bet on League of Legends, Region by Region
LoL betting follows a season split into regional leagues that meet only at international events. Here is how League of Legends markets work, why region strength matters so much, what to watch in a draft, and how Worlds 2026 in the United States is structured.
LoL betting means betting on League of Legends, the most watched esport in the world. Its season is regional: Korea, China, Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Brazil each run their own league, and the regions meet only at the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship. That structure shapes every price, because a team's record at home says little about how it will fare against another region.

How a LoL match is played
Two teams of five fight on one map until one destroys the other's Nexus, usually in 25 to 40 minutes. Regional leagues mostly play best-of-three; international knockouts are best-of-five; some group stages use best-of-one. Teams choose their side, blue or red, and the side affects the draft order, which is why “side selection” is part of LoL analysis.
The markets that matter
| Market | What you bet on | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Series winner | who wins the series | the main market |
| Map winner | one named game | opens after the previous game |
| Map handicap | -1.5 or +1.5 maps | 2–0 or 3–1 favourites |
| Kill handicap and total kills | kills given or taken, over or under | patch-dependent |
| Game duration | over or under a time | late-game drafts favour overs |
| First blood, first dragon, first tower, first baron | early and mid-game objectives | popular in live betting |
Objective markets, dragons and barons in particular, are where team style shows. Some teams play for early dragons almost every game; others concede them and scale.
Region strength: the key to international events
The hardest question in LoL betting is how strong one region is against another, because they rarely meet. The record of LCK and LPL teams at past World Championships gives them a structural edge, and markets price that in. The value usually appears in two places: when a strong team from a smaller region is underrated, and when a big-region team arrives out of form and is priced on reputation.
Drafts and patches
Like Dota 2, League of Legends changes with each patch, and Worlds is played on a fixed version announced in advance. Teams that adapt quickly to the Worlds patch tend to outperform their regional form. During a series, the draft of each game moves the map price, and live markets react to the first ten minutes more than to anything else.

Most LoL betting is on the series winner, but the game has objective markets no other esport offers. First dragon, first baron, first tower and first inhibitor are priced before the game and live, and each one follows from the draft: a team built around early skirmishes is more likely to take the first dragon, a team that scales is more likely to take the first baron. Total kills and game time behave like the Dota 2 equivalents but on a shorter scale, with most professional games finishing between 25 and 35 minutes.
The format matters more in LoL than anywhere else. A best-of-one in the Swiss stage at Worlds is close to a coin toss between good teams, and the price on a favourite in a Bo1 is often too short for what one game can show. In a best-of-five the stronger team wins far more often, so the same favourite at the same price is a much better bet in the knockout rounds than in the opening days. When you read LoL odds, read the format first.
What to check at LoL betting sites
- Objective markets. Dragons, barons, towers and inhibitors are the sign of a book that prices League of Legends properly rather than copying a series line.
- Map handicaps in long series. A -1.5 map handicap on a Bo5 favourite is often the better price than the series win.
- Regional leagues. Worlds is covered everywhere; the LCK, LPL and LEC through the year are not.
- Settlement on remakes. Check what happens to a game bet if a match is remade after an early disconnection.
Worlds 2026
The 2026 World Championship runs from 15 October to 14 November in the United States. Nineteen teams are invited: four from Korea, four from China, three each from North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, and two from Brazil. Four teams start in a play-in, a double-elimination bracket of best-of-fives, and the winner joins fifteen others in a five-round Swiss stage, where three wins advance and three losses eliminate. The play-in is at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles from 15 to 18 October; the Swiss stage, quarterfinals and semifinals are in Allen, Texas; and the final is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on 14 November. The Worlds 2026 page follows the event.

Where to watch LoL
Riot Games streams Worlds free on its official LoL Esports channels on Twitch and YouTube, with co-streams in many languages. Some betting sites also show streams or trackers on selected matches to signed-in accounts; the selection differs from site to site.
The account behind a LoL bet
A LoL bet uses the same wallet and terms as any other bet. The best odds page shows how to check a sportsbook's margin, and the esports betting section covers the other games.
