Caio Borralho is the fifth-ranked middleweight in the UFC and one of the hardest men in the division to beat convincingly: in 21 professional fights nobody has stopped him. On 14 November 2026 he meets Yousri Belgaroui, a former Glory kickboxing title challenger, on the UFC 334 card at Madison Square Garden. A win keeps him in the queue behind Sean Strickland's title; a loss to an unranked opponent would push him well down it.

The full record reads 18-2-0 with one no contest, which came from an accidental foul in 2018. Of the 18 wins, five were knockouts or TKOs, four were submissions and nine went to the judges. Both losses were unanimous decisions, ten years apart.

He reached the UFC the long way. A decision win on the Contender Series in September 2021 did not earn a contract, so he came back a month later at light heavyweight, stopped Jesse Murray in the first round and got one.

What is known about Borralho

On paper he is a grappler: a jiu-jitsu black belt from the Fighting Nerds team with a judo brown belt as well. In the cage he is more patient than that suggests. His UFC profile shows 3.47 significant strikes landed per minute against 2.61 absorbed, 56 per cent accuracy and 60 per cent strike defence. Those are the numbers of a fighter who wins rounds without taking big risks.

The defensive side is the strongest part of his game. He stops 76 per cent of takedown attempts and has never been finished in MMA. The cost is that he finishes fewer fights than his belts suggest. Seven of his nine UFC fights went to the scorecards, and his average fight lasts 14 minutes and 9 seconds, close to the full 15 of a three-round bout.

The two most useful results for judging him are the five-round fights. He beat Jared Cannonier over 25 minutes in a main event in 2024, then lost a clear decision to Nassourdine Imavov, now ranked third, in Paris a year later. That loss ended a 14-fight winning streak. He returned in March with a decision over Reinier de Ridder.

UFC 334: chances and why

Belgaroui was born in Amsterdam on 2 June 1992 and is 34. He comes from kickboxing, where he challenged three times for the Glory middleweight title and lost three times to Alex Pereira between 2017 and 2018. He trains at Glover Teixeira's gym, stands 6 ft 5 in with a 79-inch reach and is 11–3 in MMA. After losing on the Contender Series in 2023, he came back to win there in 2024 and has since stopped all three UFC opponents: Azamat Bekoev and Mansur Abdul-Malik in the third round, and Djorden Santos in the first on 12 September 2026, nine weeks before this fight. He is not yet in the UFC's top 15.

Our view: Caio Borralho should win around 70 per cent of the time, a fair price near 1.43. Belgaroui at 30 per cent works out at about 3.33. Both figures are our own estimate, not a quote from any bookmaker.

Reasons Borralho is the favourite:

  1. The grappling gap. Belgaroui built his career in a sport with no takedowns. Borralho's jiu-jitsu and judo give him a route to winning that does not involve standing in front of a Glory-level striker.
  2. Durability. No stoppage losses in 21 fights, against a man whose UFC wins are all knockouts.
  3. Quality of opposition. Borralho has beaten Cannonier and de Ridder. None of Belgaroui's three UFC opponents is in the current top 15.

Reasons not to back Borralho at any price:

  1. Size. Belgaroui is three inches taller with four inches more reach, and he knows how to use distance.
  2. Form and timing. Three straight UFC stoppages, the latest in September, while Borralho's own striking output is modest.

How to bet on Caio Borralho

To win. At our estimate, 1.43 is the line: shorter than that and the price is working for the bookmaker. Plug any quote into the odds calculator to see the chance it implies.

Method of victory. His history makes “Borralho by decision” the most likely single outcome, and it usually pays more than the moneyline. “Borralho by submission” is the bigger price for those who expect him to take Belgaroui down and keep him there. On the other side, “Belgaroui by KO/TKO” is the only realistic path for the underdog.

Fight goes the distance. Seven of Borralho's nine UFC fights ended on the scorecards, six of them after the full distance, which makes “Yes” the market most in line with his record. This is a three-round fight, so total-rounds lines will sit at 1.5 or 2.5; the over fits a Borralho win on points.

Betting during the fight. Watch the first two minutes. If Borralho lands an early takedown, Belgaroui's price usually drifts. Our guide to betting in-play explains how to use those swings.

Where to watch
