Kayla Harrison: Two-Time Olympic Champion, UFC Champion, Facing Nunes
Kayla Harrison defends the UFC women's bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes at UFC 334, Madison Square Garden, on 14 November 2026. It is the first defence of the belt she won in June 2025. Here is her record, her judo-based game and our estimate for the fight.
Kayla Harrison won Olympic judo gold twice, two PFL titles and, in June 2025, the UFC women's bantamweight championship. On 14 November 2026 she makes her first defence against Amanda Nunes, the only woman to have held two UFC titles at once, at UFC 334 in Madison Square Garden. Nunes has not fought since June 2023. For bettors, the fight is a clash between a grappler who has lost once in twenty fights and a striker returning from more than three years out.

What is known about Kayla Harrison
UFC.com lists her style as judo, and the numbers show a fighter who wins on the mat:
- 53 % of her significant strikes land on the ground, against 29 % standing. Ground-and-pound and control are her offence.
- 1.10 significant strikes absorbed per minute, the lowest figure of the three champions we profile. Opponents rarely get clean shots.
- 100 % takedown defence in the UFC. Nobody has put her on her back.
- 0.95 submission attempts per 15 minutes, and eight career submission wins: four armbars plus an arm-triangle, a keylock, a kimura and a rear-naked choke.
- Average fight time 10:34, a sign of how often her fights end early.
Her strength is the clinch. Olympic judo at 78 kg means throws, trips and grip fighting few bantamweights have seen, and once a fight hits the mat she controls position. Two of her three UFC wins were second-round submissions.
The open question is her striking under pressure. Her UFC sample is three fights and 136 significant strikes landed, a small base from which to judge how she handles a heavy hitter. Wikipedia also notes the fight was first booked for UFC 324 in January 2026 and moved, so she arrives seventeen months after her last fight.
Harrison vs Nunes at UFC 334: chances and why
Our estimate: Kayla Harrison wins 58 % of the time, a fair price of about 1.72 (roughly 8/11). That is our estimate, not a bookmaker price. Nunes's side is 42 %, around 2.38.
Why we favour the champion:
- Activity. Harrison last fought in June 2025. Nunes last fought in June 2023, when she beat Irene Aldana at UFC 289 and retired. Three years and five months out is a long gap for any fighter.
- Age. Nunes was born on 30 May 1988 and is 38. Harrison is 36. Neither is young, but the older fighter is also the one returning from retirement.
- The grappling gap. Harrison has 100 % takedown defence in the UFC. Nunes's takedown defence on UFC.com is 82 %, good but not perfect, and in our view Harrison needs only one clean takedown a round to bank it.
- Against us: Nunes's finishing record. Thirteen of her 23 wins came by knockout and fourteen ended in the first round. She is the only woman to hold two UFC titles at once, and she defended the bantamweight belt five times.
- Against us: Nunes's own grappling. Wikipedia records a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a judo brown belt. In our view, Harrison has not yet faced an opponent this complete.
Our view on how it ends: Harrison by submission or a control-heavy decision, Nunes by knockout early. If Harrison survives the first round without trouble, our estimate would move further her way.

Moneyline. Put any quoted price into the odds calculator; if it implies more than 58 % for Harrison, it is shorter than our estimate.
Method of victory. “Harrison by submission” is the bet that matches how she has won in the UFC. It pays more than her moneyline and loses if she wins on the cards, which she did against Vieira.
Round betting and total rounds. Both fighters finish early often. Under 2.5 rounds suits a view that the fight is decided in the first exchange on the mat or on the feet. Over 2.5 suits a view that Nunes defends the first takedowns and the fight settles into a grind.
Live, between rounds. The first round will show whether Harrison can close the distance and clinch. Prices move a lot after a round where one fighter clearly gets their game going; our live betting guide explains when the markets reopen.
The other title holders profiled in this set are Petr Yan at bantamweight and Joshua Van at flyweight. The general rules for UFC markets, including voided bets when a fighter withdraws, are in our guide to UFC betting.
Where to watch
Since 2026 the UFC's media deal has been with Paramount Skydance, and in the United States recent cards such as UFC 331 have gone out on Paramount+. In other countries UFC 334 is carried by national broadcasters and the UFC's own platforms, and these change from market to market; the UFC website lists the broadcaster for your country.
Several betting sites let account holders watch some events through the site itself, and we have listed those that do. What each one carries is not the same, and a card covered on one site may be missing on another, so check the schedule a day or two before the event.
Before fight night
Title fights still change late. If either fighter pulls out, most sites void the bet and open a new market for the replacement bout. Decide your stake before the walkouts, keep it to an amount you can lose, and use our responsible gambling page if betting stops being a hobby.
